On the blog today, I’m bringing you The Distillery Venue, with Sarah Regehr! The venue is located in Abbotsford, BC and featured floor-to-ceiling copper distillery equipment, a stunning craft bar, an open-concept loft area and an outdoor dining and patio area. This cute venue is nestled amongst acres of farmland and provides an intimate event space. The Distillery Venue is absolutely perfect for small weddings and unique celebrations.

Tell me about your product or service.

Nestled amongst acres of farmland, The Distillery Venue is an intimate event space and private distillery, ideal for small weddings, milestone occasions, corporate functions, and unique celebrations. Located at South of Fraser Fine Spirits in Abbotsford, the venue features state-of-the-art distilling equipment, a bar, a loft area, outdoor dining and patio area, and a neighbouring orchard. With a unique and easily customized layout, The Distillery is ideal for indoor and outdoor celebrations and offers year-round functionality.

How would you describe your venue?

An intimate venue, ideal for the client looking for a unique space for their celebration!

What is the capacity of your venue (seated and standing)?

Our capacity is up to 50 guests for cocktail-style gatherings indoors. For seated dinners, we recommend utilizing the adjacent outdoor patio, as the venue itself is not large enough to accommodate a seated dinner of that size. We can accommodate up to 50 guests for a seated dinner outdoors.

How long have you been in business?

Although the distillery has been operational for the past three years, we just opened our doors for events this past year.

Do you require a minimum spend?

Our smallest venue package is $5,000

What is a typical or average spend that couples should expect for their wedding day?

Between $5,000 – $7,500

Do you offer packages? If so, can you elaborate on or describe your current packages?

Is the site accessible for people with disabilities?

The main floor and adjacent patio are accessible. The loft is only accessible by stairs.

Do you have an in-house caterer or a list of “preferred” caterers, or do clients need to provide their own? Even if there is an in-house caterer, do they have the option of using an outside caterer instead?

Nope! Clients are welcome to use any caterer they wish.

If I hire my own caterer, is there a kitchen available for them?

Regrettably, we do not have a kitchen on-site. Our back production area features large industrial sinks that caterers are welcome to access. This area is available for caterers to use as a staging area.

Can you accommodate ceremonies and reception?

Yes, we can accommodate both.

Are tables, linens, chairs, plates, silverware, and glassware provided, or will clients need to rent them or get them through the caterer?

Tables and chairs are available with our second and third-tier packages. The Distillery Venue is also home to Beholden Event Design and clients have the option of sourcing rentals from them!

Can the venue accommodate a DJ or live band?

Yes, but due to our size, we highly recommend keeping a live band to a minimal number of performers.

Is there a separate space for cocktail hour?

No.

Do you have a sound system and/or microphones for speeches?

The venue is wired with a Sonos sound system for music.

Is there parking on site and if so, is it complimentary? If not, where will guests park?

Yes, and yes!

Are cabs/rideshares (like Uber, Lyft, etc.) easily accessible from the venue?

Definitely!

Tell me more about the process of planning with clients for a wedding day.

Once booked, we provide our clients with detailed information regarding the venue and any specific requirements. We are always available to answer any questions along the way and can happily arrange additional site visits if required. We hold a final logistics meeting one more prior to their event date to confirm details, floor plan, timing etc. On event day, we provide a facility liaison to troubleshoot or answer any questions that may arise.

What is something you would like clients to know about the planning process for their wedding day?

We require that you have an event planner or point of contact for our facility liaison on your wedding day to ensure the day runs seamlessly. We hold a final logistics meeting one month prior to the event date.
