Our Trip to Portland!

Personal

Avery and I took a little trip down to Portland, Oregon for the Easter Long Weekend and we had SO MUCH FUN!! If you have ever considered doing a trip, I recommend you try this one out. We started our trip by heading straight down to Portland where we stayed at the AC Hotel Portland Downtown by Marriott. This spot was perfectly situated in Downtown Portland, within walking distance from Voodoo Doughnut and more! Now…for anyone reading this who has not been to Portland. Note that there is a lot of homeless population living on the streets in tents. This was something we were not aware of and even the hotel staff let us know to be careful and not to go in some areas. I’m not here to scare you away, just be aware of it! We ultimately picked to have secure parking with the hotel and we did walk around at night and had no troubles.

After getting a good night’s rest, we woke up for donuts! Cause why not…right!?

This is Captain Crunch and Maple Bacon Voodoo Doughnut.

Our next stop after starting our day out with some donuts was to walk over to the Portland Oregon White Stag Sign

Portland Oregon White Stag Sign

The Portland Oregon White Stag Sign is located in downtown Portland walking distance from our hotel in the Skidmore/Old Town Historic District. The sign serves as a symbol of the iconic history of the City of Portland and it is a must-see when in downtown Portland!

I honestly could not get over the architecture of the city buildings. Look at the history that it holds!

Some Food Spots!

Our next stop was out towards the Hawthorne District area where we wished that we spent more time walking around! We had to stop for food, so we make our way to a food truck area where we enjoyed some beers by Breakside Brewing. The food truck area is located in this area, Breakside Beer Cart. We enjoyed the best Fried Chicken Burgers from Summit Shack. One thing we’ve learned about Portland is that the food is great! Be sure to check out the endless food trucks that they have! One spot we wanted to check out but didn’t have time for was the Hawthorne Asylum Food Carts.

Of course we had to stop for some mural photos too!

The Waffle Window

Another spot along the Hawthorn Street District was The Waffle Window. This was a fun little spot to stop but I wouldn’t go out of your way to stop here. It was cute and we had a great waffle but ultimately felt like there were probably other great spots too. If you’re a waffle lover, add it to your list!

Cannon Beach, Oregon

Our next spot was to visit Cannon Beach, Oregon. This has been a bucket list spot for some time and I probably could have spent my whole trip in this little down.

Our trip ended in Seattle but we decided to enjoy some time together and put the camera away. If you want some Seattle suggestions, please reach out!
